Wyatt/Hatch valentine card collection, 1890-1919.

Thirteen valentine cards and two small gift booklets made up of two groups. One group of cards, circa 1890, includes an envelope with handwritten note: "Marge Hatch's mother's," and the other group, probably collected by Miss Beth Wyatt, was found in a large envelope labeled "Feb. 1919 - Valentines received from my students in 5th & 6th grades - Clarkston, Cache Valley School." Many of the valentines are pop-up cards or built up in layers, with color lithography, embossing, paper-lace, individual printed scraps, etc. Some of the Wyatt valentines are inscribed to "Miss Beth Wyatt," "Elizabeth Wyatt," or "Miss Wyatt," and some are signed (by Wesley Malmberg, "Sarah," Erma Buttars, and Wallace Buttars). The Hatch valentines are unsigned, and include two small gift booklets of poetry, both with die cut covers, printed and embossed, with gilt and color lithography, and bound with tasseled cords.
